Description
UNA-078 refers to a phenomenon that occurs on December 13 of every year. For about 11 days, the buildings of a particular city or town begin to stretch and warp in such a way that is structurally impossible. The centers of gravity of each building affected by UNA-078 will shift out of the base area, but will not fall. The buildings can bend to make the top levels either inaccessible or inhabitable. Eyewitnesses have described these buildings to be 'like snakes, slithering over each other'. Despite this, civilians who live in the mentioned places will not seem to notice, continuing with their lives as usual.
During this period of time, children in the city will begin to wake up at specific times around the night. These times have included 12.25am, 1.12am and 3.33am, though each timing differs for different years. The children will move around the house they live in, following a pattern: they will first retrieve a knife from the kitchen, then they will enter the rooms of any siblings present. Finally, they will enter their parents room. Afterwards, the children will return the knife and head back to their rooms to resume sleeping. While it has not yet been discovered what exactly happens in the children's parents or siblings' rooms, the parents and siblings are always discovered the next morning, dead from multiple stab wounds.
On December 25 of every year, the same town or city will experience a heavy snowstorm. The snow can pile up to heights of more than 3 feet, and will very often suffocate children in the process. This snowstorm usually lasts for more than 7 hours, during which adults will hurry off to buy Christmas themed decorations. Upon doing so, they will then decorate their houses with said decorations.
At precisely 7.45pm on December 25, the snowstorm will stop, and will instead be replaced by a booming voice, that can only be heard within the city. The voice has been recorded to say many things, but has most commonly said Christmas-related phrases such as 'Hope you've been a good child this year!' and 'Time to unwrap your gifts!'. After repeating a phrase for about 10 times, the voice will begin to laugh menacingly. All civilians within the city will appear not to notice, and continue with their Christmas dinners.
At the end of the Christmas dinners, families will proceed with unwrapping of their presents. However, each gift has been replaced with a deadly object. For example, a box containing a toy may instead contain a knife-wielding, self-aware robot. A bottle of perfume may instead contain cyanide gas that leaks out on its own accord. A large box containing electronics may instead be filled with venomous snakes. It is unknown how each gift has been replaced, although it has been hypothesised that the voice may be involved.
This replacement of presents has been known to cause up to more than 100 thousand deaths, with an event in New York causing 115 thousand.
Interestingly, on December 26, all anomalous effects cease. Buildings return to their normal positions, and all civilians appear to instantly forget about the events that occurred before. They will collectively dispose of any bodies, after which they will continue with their lives.
UNA-078 has reportedly occurred even in places that don't celebrate Christmas (like some towns in Africa), or in places where snow is geologically impossible (like in countries along the equator).
Acquisition
UNA-078 first came to Foundation attention when reports of a 'Christmas massacre' somewhere in Canada littered the mail of the UNAS-F in 1998. The situation was again reported in East Germany the next year.
UNAS-F ordered agents situated all over the world to look out for Christmas-related anomalies, at which point they were able to conduct several investigations. The investigations and experiments, which lasted for mare than 15 years, finally proved the existence of UNA-078, which earned UNA classification on December 26, 2015.
Containment Protocol
UNA-078 cannot be contained due to the event being caused by what seems to be an extradimensional being.
Should UNA-078's occurrence be predicted in a particular city, all civilians are to be evacuated. They are to be told that the soil in different parts of the city has been contaminated by leaking sewage, and requires at least 2 weeks to clean up. Meanwhile, civilians can allowed to visit and stay in relatives' houses.
Any civilian still within the city when UNA-078 occurs is to be removed as soon as possible, and administered Class A amnestics.
During this period of time, the city is to be locked down, with no civilian or visitor being allowed inside. Any person who attempts to enter are to be detained and questioned before being administered Class A amnestics.

The following is an interview conducted by Dr. [REDACTED]. The interviewee is a child who has been affected by UNA-078's anomalous effects.

Dr: Hello, child. What can I call you?
The child remains silent.
Dr: It says here your name is Michael Johnson, is that right?
The child stares at Dr. [REDACTED] for a while, but eventually nods.
Dr: So, Michael. I would like to ask you something. Did you kill your brother and parents yesterday?
Michael: They were very naughty.
Dr: I'm sorry?
Michael: They were very naughty people. They sinned. And Santa cannot have that.
Dr: Santa isn't real, Michael.
Michael: Oh, he is real. Very real. Why else would my parents be dead? You don't understand, doctor. Santa can come here and kill you whenever he wants.
Dr: You're saying that Santa killed your parents.
Michael: Maybe. But it appears you've been quite nice this year. You haven't disturbed him, and so he will not disturb you.
Dr: I'm sorry, you mean Santa?
Michael: Yes, of course. My parents, they haven't been as nice as you have, and they have inflicted the wrath of Santa.
Dr: But you, Michael, were the one who went into their room last night. With a knife! What do you have to say about that?
Michael: What must be done, must be done. Even if they are my parents. Santa wills it. Thus I will it.
Dr: You know murder can land you a lifetime in jail, right?
Michael: Sure, you can say all you want. But this, what I'm doing, is for a greater good. No more sinners in the world. Only the pure, the good, the nice, can live on this world.
The child smiles at Dr. [REDACTED], who starts to tear up. Dr. [REDACTED] asks for the child to be removed, at which point he begins to break down in tears and sobs.
